ISLAMABAD, December 22, (AP): Foreign Minister Pakistan Hina Rabbani Khar called on US Ambassador Cameron Munter today in Islamabad. US Ambassador told her that Pentagon has issued the investigation report of November 26 attacks at Salala check-post in Mohmand Agency area in Pakistan. He said that the report was released by the spokesperson of Pentagon Mr. Stephen Clarke. The Ambassador Cameron Munter told that the report says, “The attack on Salala check-post was not deliberately and the attack was not planned before the incident took place but it was made suddenly by chance when a firing incident occurred on coalition forces nearby the check-post during dark night while the coalition forces were on patrolling the area. The report says that it was not known in the maps that the Salala check-post belongs to Pakistan and it was shown on Afghan border and the coalition forces assumed that the post was occupied by some terrorist groups who opened fire on the coalition military forces suddenly. Therefore the coalition forces launched operation after the firing incident on them and mistakenly Pakistani military forces officials and soldiers were martyred in that operation. It has again been expressed the sorrowful remarks in the report again that coalition forces, NATO forces, American forces and government of USA condole on the martyrdoms of Pakistani military persons and will ensure Pakistan that such incidents will not be taken place again.”
